We’re getting so many messages from President Trump that we can’t possibly keep up. The Tweets, the braggadocio, the attacks, the invectives, the nonsense and, of course, the lies. Our current president will say and do anything he damn well pleases without shame. But, there is one main message the president has for everyone on the entire planet: People who follow the rules are suckers and losers.
According to Mr. Trump’s statements and demeanor if you pay your legal share of taxes, treat people (especially, for him, the opposite sex) with respect, pay your creditors, live within your means, work hard to succeed at your job and, generally, believe the laws of the land apply to you, you, my friend, are a sucker and a loser.
Mr. Trump also understands that we can’t all be like him. If everyone was like him, our society would be a pre-human domestication blood bath. From what anthropologists know today, that would set us back at least 200,000 years to the time before our tendency for reactive aggression, violence with little provocation, was beginning to moderate, which allowed larger and larger numbers of us to live together in increased harmony.
So, even though the message is clear, what you should do about it depends. If, you are A) a major corporation-person, a triple A-list famous-person, a uber wealthy-person, a very powerful person, or some combination of these, you may subvert the rules in efforts to gain more power, more money and more fame.
